The 3 types of drilling methods commonly used in the northeastern U.S. are illustrated. Left to right:

  • A hollow stem auger used for drilling in unconsolidated material, primarily on environmental and geotechnical projects
  • a mud/air rotary drilling in overburden using a tri-cone roller bit
  • a down-the-hole hammer bit used in rotary percussion (air rotary) drilling in bedrock.

Since 1955, LaFramboise Well Drilling, Inc. has served the drilling and water needs of builders, developers, engineers, municipal and private water companies, state and federal agencies and homeowners throughout Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and New York.
